Moscow (The Times Groupe)- Russia insisted on Tuesday that Russia will win the “hybrid war” with Ukraine and the West, and achieve all its goals.
“Everything will be fine, and we are certain that we will win, we will achieve all our goals,” spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at the educational marathon conference New Horizons in Moscow.
According to him, Russia is engaged in a war not just with Ukraine, but also with the United States and other Western countries.
“We still call them ‘unfriendly states,’ but I would argue that they are already hostile states because they are waging war,” the spokesman argued.
In Peskov’s view, Russia is waging a hybrid war, which indicates the involvement of both American and British advisers and the supply of weapons to Ukraine, as well as a diplomatic, political, and economic war – an attempt to isolate Russia in the world.
In seeking tools to subvert Russia, Western countries break fundamental values, including the inviolability of private property, he said.
“It seems as though the very existence of Russia is a significant irritation for the collective West, which is willing to do anything to prevent us from growing and living the way we want,” he argued.
According to Peskov, Russia has been explaining to the West that it does not like “missiles and guns” placed near its borders when NATO expands.
Moscow has negotiated with Europe new security principles on how to live together in peace, so that there are no measures of discrimination in economics and trade.
“They didn’t listen to us because there is a lot of competition in the world, and in general, the West is arranged in a pyramid with the US at the top. That’s where the control center is,” he said.
However, Russia has all it needs to deal with the current problems and reserves for development.
Finally, the confrontation with the West will end with the emergence of a new world where Russia’s voice will be heard, he said.
“I am confident that any war will end in peace. We will live in a world where our voice will be heard, where we will be comfortable, where we will be safe, and where we will stand confidently on our own,” Peskov said.
